Spa Week

APRIL 16th – 22nd

Headed by Christina Castro and Cheryl Reid Spa Week was created out of the belief that “stress is omnipresent. From anxiety to work to family, it is a non-discriminating byproduct of the world we live in. So when the opportunity to alleviate some of that surmounting tension is offered, the spa experience becomes not just a pampering whimsy for the privileged but an integral part of a healthy lifestyle.”

Once Considered an Indulgence, Spa Treatments are Quickly Becoming a Necessity. The cure for this stress as stated in C & R Medias Mission Statement was to “introduce the general public to the spa lifestyle. By marrying consumers' want and need for affordable spa treatments, and day spas' need for a broader range of clients, the entire spa industry could become what it should be: a healthy part of the wellness lifestyle available to all.”

From April 16th to April 22nd, participating spas will be bringing $50 spa treatments to consumers at over 400 locations throughout the United States and Canada in an effort to introduce a new generation of consumers to the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, and to open up the spa industry to the masses.   The goal is to make “wellness” more than just a word, they intend to do their part and make it a reality. By educating and introducing the health benefits of the “spa lifestyle” to as many people as possible, Spa Week is taking a leadership position in the campaign to change the unhealthy course the country is navigating.

SeaIsland

Mandarin Oriental New York Spa, New York, NY

This sleek hotel marries Asian sensibilities with New York panache, and its 14,500-square-foot spa is the piece-de-la-resistance. Bamboo and natural stone are used throughout, creating a temple of serenity in this most frenetic of world capitals. Chinese, Ayurvedic, Balinese, and Thai healing therapies are the highlight of a visit to this facility, where guests are encouraged to book blocks of time, known as Time Rituals, for a comprehensive relaxation experience. The spa menu is far-reaching, offering a wide array of massage therapies, body treatments, and facials designed to purify, nurture, balance, and rejuvenate visitors. Signature therapies celebrate the spa’s Eastern heritage with Lomi Lomi massage, Chakra balancing, and Ama releasing Abhyanga. This bastion of blissful quietude is capped off by a state-of-the-art fitness center, complete with a magnificent pool where swimmers can lap up the city skyline views.
