Celebrate the 4th by Relaxing in the Water!
Are you going to be barbecuing at the beach, at the lake or in your own backyard by the pool? These types of activities help us to celebrate the 4th of July. We celebrate the freedoms we enjoy in the United States. This year, what better way to celebrate freedom then with the true freedom you experience at a spa.
This 4th of July, let’s celebrate by going back to the origins and true meaning or acronym for SPA, “Sanus Per Aquam” meaning health by or through water. How about having a Watsu® treatment? Or going to a spa that is known for water?
What is Watsu®?
Through Watsu®, the person receiving it will experience greater flexibility and freedom. Short for Water Shiatsu, Watsu® began in 1980 in the warm pool at Harbin Hot Springs when Harold Dull started floating people while applying the stretches and principles of the Zen Shiatsu. Stretching strengthens muscle and increases flexibility. Warm water, associated with the body's deepest states of waking relaxation, is the ideal medium. Water supports the weight of your body and takes it off the vertebras. This allows the spine to be moved in ways impossible on land. Gentle, gradual twists and pulls relieve the pressure a rigid spine places on nerves and helps undo any dysfunctioning this pressure can cause to the organs serviced by those nerves.
