Relax and rejuvenate at a serene, soothing spas at Lake of the Ozarks
Simply gazing out over the shimmering beauty of the Lake of the Ozarks can be a rejuvenating experience. However, for many visitors, a massage, facial or other relaxing treatment at one of the lake area’s outstanding day spas can extend the soothing sensation.
The Lake of the Ozarks is gaining a reputation as the go-to destination for some of the finest spas in Missouri and beyond. Couples plan romantic interludes and ladies schedule “girlfriend getaways” to the Lake specifically to relax at a serene spa. Best of all, select lodging properties offer money-saving packages that combine spa visits and shopping with comfortable accommodations.
Spa 54 is the newest at the lake, located at The Resort Hotel & Yacht Club at Toadcove in Lake Ozark. Opened last June, Spa 54, the only Aveda Concept spa at the Lake, offers a dimension of pure relaxation and pampered attention.
“We use only 100 percent natural botanicals,” says owner Tod McClelland. “Our spa is green in every way, starting with the natural stone reception desk and waterfall.”
Spa 54’s signature treatments include the Caribbean manicure, pedicure and body treatment, all of which use plants grown in the Caribbean to soothe and soften. “The body treatment is a restorative scalp, face and body massage that’s ideal for jet lag or stress recovery,” McClelland says. Other massages include cool and warm stone, Chakra Balancing complete with reflexology and meditation, couples, pre-natal and chair. Massages are offered by the pool and Lakeside, weather permitting.

Facials include the Green Science Skin-Renewing Treatment that blends plant science with high-touch skin therapy to lift and firm skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles for a more youthful-looking appearance. The spa also offers manicures, pedicures and other salon services.
