Spa Deal: Two-for-one admission to Glen Ivy Hot Springs spa

If you’re sailing in the same boat I am (and who isn’t in this economy?), luxuries have been severely cut from your monthly budget. But with this deal happening at Glen Ivy Hot Springs, you almost can’t afford not to go.

Through Feb. 26, the spa is offering a two-for-the-price-of-one admission, which gets you full access to 19 pools and spas, mineral baths, saunas, and — my personal favorite — Club Mud. As far as I know, Glen Ivy is the only spa in SoCal to have red clay mud baths, which dries to a nice crust all over your body as you bake in the sun like a modern-day golem. When you rinse off, your skin is wonderfully soft, much like the proverbial baby’s bottom. Friends I went with didn’t appreciate the clay getting in certain unnameable bodily crevices, but I downright loved the chance to relive my childhood career as a mudpie chef.

I have to admit, the deal seems tailor-made for freelancers and the recently unemployed, considering it’s only offered weekdays. Heck, that means more deck chairs for me. As a double-full-time freelancer, I sure could stand for some stress alleviation.
