Gent’s Place Dallas Texas Scheduled to Open

There will be no pink robes or lavender-scented oils at Gent’s Place, the newest guy’s-guy spa and barbershop opening this month at the Shops at Starwood in Frisco.
Gent’s Place will be the latest men-only salon to open in the Dallas area in the past few years, following a national trend of businesses catering to the personal grooming needs of men.
“The No. 1 reason people go to a spa, male or female, is to reduce stress and relax,” said Lynne McNees, president of the Kentucky-based International Spa Association. “Men are introduced to the spa experience by their wives or girlfriends. Once they go then they start telling their friends, ‘Hey, this is pretty cool.’ ”
Gent’s Place is scheduled to open Dec. 13, said owner Ben Davis, who researched other men’s salons in the area, took the ideas that he believes will work, and made tweaks to the concept where he thinks he can improve.
