After being closed nearly two years for renovations, Miami’s Clevelander South Beach Hotel (1020 Ocean Drive; 877-532-4006; www.clevelander.com), known for maintaining a spring break atmosphere year round, is scheduled to open Monday with 60 refurbished rooms, nine full-service bars and a new tower with six additional rooms and five so-called Rockstar suites. Some Art Deco features, including the Clevelander sign, have been preserved, but additions like the C-Level Rooftop Terrace, the Game On Sports Bar, the SPF4 Sun Deck and the 1020 Music Boxx nightclub have a contemporary look. Nightly rates start at $179.
Some 10 blocks north of South Beach, the Palms Hotel & Spa (3025 Collins Avenue; 305-534-0515; www.thepalmshotel.com), left, also has some new additions: a spa (Aveda’s first luxury beach resort spa in the country), which is set to open on May 18, and a new restaurant and lounge, Essensia, which opened earlier this year. Nightly rates at the 243-room hotel start at $149. To mark the opening of the spa and restaurant, the Palms is offering 20 percent off dinner and spa services for stays of at least three nights through July 31.
