Chi Tea Recipes

Basic Chi Tea

1 cup milk -- or less
2 cups water
1 Tbsp loose black tea
1 tbsp honey
1-drop vanilla extract
1/2 tbsp cardamom
1/2 tbsp cinnamon
1/8 tbsp ginger
a few whole cloves
Boil above ingredients ( except black tea)for 5 minutes,
Add Tea steep for 10. Strain and drink.
Chi Tea Recipe Variations


Chai Tea Variation #1

· 7 cups water
· 1 Tbsp fennel seed
· 6 green cardamom pods
· 12 cloves
· 1 cinnamon stick
· 1 pc ginger root -- (1 1/4") sliced thin
· 1/4 tsp black peppercorns
· 2 bay leaves
Boil above ingredients for 5 minutes

· 2 Tbsp Darjeeling tea
· Add tea & steep for 10 minutes.

1 cup milk
· 6 Tbsp honey -- or brown sugar*
Then add honey or brown sugar and milk.


Chai Tea Variation #2

4 bags black tea
1 1/2 qt water
10 cardamom pods
2 cinnamon sticks
1 pinch black pepper
3 Tbsp sugar

Boil for 5 minutes, steep for 10. Strain and drink.


Chai Tea Variation #3

1 1/2 cups water
1 stick cinnamon -- (1") (1 to 1)
8 cardamom pods
8 whole cloves

Put water in pot. Add cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves.
Bring to a boil.
2/3 cups milk
6 tsp sugar
Turn heat to low and simmer 10 minutes.
Add milk and sugar and bring to a simmer.
3 tsp loose black tea (preferably Ceylon or Assam)
Add in tea leaves, cover and turn off heat.
Steep 2 minutes, strain and serve.
